Job summary

APAC-Atlantic, part of CRH's South Division, seeks an Construction Area Manager to lead asphalt paving and plant operations in Savannah, GA. You will direct multiple crews, manage budgets, and ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets.

The role requires deep knowledge of asphalt production, field leadership, and collaboration with estimating, sales, and maintenance teams to drive operational excellence and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Ten or more years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, asphalt paving, asphalt production, utility construction, or related operations preferred.
• Five or more years of leadership experience managing multiple crews, projects, facilities, or operational business units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to safety throughout all operations.
• Direct and oversee asphalt paving crews, utility crews, and asphalt plant operations across the assigned area.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production schedules to support safe and efficient execution.
• Establish operating priorities, monitor performance, and implement actions to improve productivity, quality, and profitability.
• Provide leadership and direction to superintendents, supervisors, foremen, plant personnel, and other operations employees.
• Oversee daily asphalt plant operations, including production planning, plant utilization, product quality, operating costs, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with maintenance and quality control teams to maximize plant reliability, uptime, and product consistency.
