Job summary

Francis O. Day Co. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paver Operator to support paving operations. This role focuses on safe, efficient operation of asphalt paving equipment on roadway, commercial, and industrial projects.

The candidate should have 3+ years of paver experience, familiarity with Blaw-Knox, Cat, Volvo or Dynapac, and a strong commitment to safety and productivity on active sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating asphalt pavers on roadway or commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt paving operations, including screed and mat quality.
• Ability to read grades and follow grade control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt pavers safely and efficiently to achieve specified grades and surface quality.
• Perform daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate with screed operators, laborers, rollers, and foremen to maintain smooth workflow.
• Monitor material flow, conveyor systems, and screed performance.
• Identify issues and report to supervisors; ensure safety and quality.
