Approach Venture LLC in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an ASME Welding Technician to fabricate and weld high-pressure, high-temperature components for energy systems. You will read drawings, perform GTAW welding on stainless steel and high-alloy materials, and manage fabrication from prep to final assembly.

The role requires 4+ years of hands-on welding, WPQ qualifications under ASME IX, and strong attention to quality, safety, and documentation. On-site, equity is offered as part of the package.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional welding experience.
• WPQ in accordance with ASME Section IX.
• Proficiency in GTAW welding of stainless steel and high-alloy materials.
• Experience fabricating pressure piping and pressure vessels per ASME.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, piping isometrics, and weld symbols.
• Experience preparing and executing welds using WPS.
• Proficiency in fabrication techniques: cutting, grinding, fit-up, machining.
• Knowledge of welding safety and quality requirements for pressure hardware.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld high-pressure piping and mechanical assemblies per ASME codes.
• Perform precision GTAW welding on stainless steel and high-alloy materials.
• Interpret drawings, piping isometrics, and weld symbols for assembly.
• Prepare materials, bevel edges, clean, and fixturing for welding.
• Monitor welding parameters and heat input to ensure weld integrity.
• Fabricate structural frames, skids, brackets, and hardware for testing.
• Support weld inspections and nondestructive examination.
• Maintain welding records and material traceability.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve weld designs.
• Maintain welding equipment and shop areas for safety.
