Job summary

ERM is seeking a highly talented Art Director to lead creative work across stakeholder engagement campaigns, brand storytelling, digital experiences, and sustainability reporting. You will mentor designers, manage client relationships, and drive high-impact concepts from concept to execution.

You will collaborate with writers, strategists, and digital designers in a fast-paced, client-facing role that may be remote within ET/Central time zones or hybrid with in-person work near the Knoxville

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience.
• 4-6+ years of professional graphic design experience.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Agency experience preferred.
• Strong portfolio across digital, print, interactive, and branding work.
• Excellent typography, layout, and design principles.
• Detail-oriented with quality control.
• Strong client communications and leadership of design-focused discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop graphic designers and foster growth.
• Provide clear expectations and feedback for projects and career development.
• Consult with client teams and clients on engaging digital communications.
• Manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines and priorities.
• Own projects from concept through final delivery with strategic alignment.
• Contribute to proposals and sales opportunities with design estimates.
