Job summary

ERM seeks a highly talented Art Director to join our global design team, leading client engagements from concept to execution. This role blends world-class creative work with sustainability storytelling for Fortune 500 clients, with remote options in Eastern/Central time zones or hybrid near Knoxville.

You will mentor designers, guide creative direction, and collaborate with writers, strategists, and digital designers while maintaining the highest quality standards and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience.
• 4-6+ years of professional graphic design experience.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Agency experience preferred.
• Strong portfolio across digital, print, interactive, and branding work.
• Superior understanding of typography and page layout.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
• Ability to lead design-focused discussions and client communications.
• Ability to multitask and work under shifting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop graphic designers to grow their capabilities.
• Provide clear expectations and feedback on projects and career development.
• Consult with client teams and clients on creative and digital strategies.
• Manage multiple projects with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
• Own projects from concept to final delivery ensuring strategic alignment.
• Contribute to sales opportunities through design estimates and proposals.
• Present design work and provide strategic insight on client calls.
• Oversee design rules and processes within the team.
