Job summary

COLORADO PARKS AND WILDLIFE is seeking an Assistant Area Wildlife Manager to lead field operations in Area 16, NW Region. You will supervise district wildlife managers and technicians, direct program priorities, ensure compliance with state laws, and coordinate with enforcement, education, and public outreach teams.

The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to wildlife resource stewardship across the state.

Qualifications

  • Eight(8) years of relevant experience in wildlife research, wildlife management, conservation biology, ecology, wildlife biology, natural resource management or related work.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Area personnel and oversee district wildlife managers and wildlife technicians, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and sound work products.
  • Lead and assist with performance management, development and hiring of supervised staff.
  • Oversee resource acquisition and allocation to meet program needs and objectives.
  • Supervise area law enforcement operations and commissioned staff, including safety and compliance with statutes and regulations.
  • Support education, outreach, and public relations efforts to advance CPW goals.
