HDR is seeking an Area Electrical Business Class Lead to guide engineers and designers in complex architectural projects from HDR’s Building Engineering Services Design Center in Minneapolis, MN. Lead a multidisciplinary team across Healthcare, Education, Science, Justice, and Technology markets.

This role emphasizes client relations, budget oversight, staff mentoring, and coordination with other groups to ensure quality and on-time delivery. HDR values ownership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• 10 years of experience.
• Committed to quality, HDR values.
• Maintains a professional or engineering registration and related technical experience.
• Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts.
• Active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Establish client relations and be involved with marketing and client development activities.
• Manage the technical and operational activities of the electrical discipline.
• Prepare/review project budgets and scopes for the electrical discipline and track budget status.
• Schedule and coordinate all work performed inside the discipline.
• Establish work priorities and project assignments for staff.
• Monitor scope of work and scope changes.
• Facilitate coordination with other discipline groups.
• Conduct interviews in support of hiring new staff and provide mentoring.
• Establish employee goals and conduct performance reviews.
• Schedule and conduct section meetings to discuss productivity and workload.
