Job summary

HOK, a global design firm, seeks an Architectural Specification Writer to develop comprehensive project specifications and support delivery teams. The role focuses on accuracy, codes and sustainability while coordinating with multiple bid packages for Denver, with additional offices in Kansas City and St.

Louis. You will influence material selection, contribute to Master Specifications, and guide procurement through Division 01 requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of architectural practice with at least 3 years in specification writing.
• LEED accreditation or LEED Green Associate preferred.
• Experience with large-scale, multi-phase projects; design-build a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit project specifications aligning with codes, standards and design intent.
• Interpret design delivery requirements for materials, systems and testing needs.
• Coordinate with multiple bid packages and ensure procurement documentation is consistent.
• Support sustainability goals and guidance on material selection for LEED or certifications.
• Collaborate with firm-wide specifications team and vendors to ensure best practices.
• Assist with quality reviews and integration of specifications into digital delivery tools.
