Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Dallas, TX seeks an experienced Specification Writer to guide design teams on product selection, prepare and edit construction specifications, and ensure compliance with codes and standards throughout all project phases.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in architecture or construction, strong technical writing skills, and a passion for staying current on building technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture, construction management, engineering tech, building science, or related field.
• 6 years of related architectural/commercial interiors experience, with at least 3 years in writing/editing AIA MasterFormat specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and edit construction specifications for projects across all phases.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure compliance with codes and firm standards.
• Review drawings and project information to ensure accurate specs and procurement requirements.
• Plan, schedule, and prepare specifications milestones and project manuals.
• Lead product research and assist designers with material/product selections.
