Job summary

Exponent, a premier engineering and scientific consulting firm, seeks a Senior Architect or Architectural Engineer (MS/PhD) to lead and grow our Civil & Structural Practice across multiple West Coast and Mountain states.

The role combines field investigations, diagnostic surveys, technical reporting, client development, and project leadership, with a focus on building envelope and material failure analysis.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's Degree in Architectural Engineering or Architecture and at least 2-3 years of consulting experience related to buildings.
• Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.
• Professional license in Engineering (PE) and/or Architecture (AIA) in the United States.
• Must possess strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical information and present it to specialists and non‑specialists alike.
• Clear written communication and technical writing skills are required.
• Must have a proven dedication to quality and accuracy.
• Must be versatile, team‑oriented, willing to work overtime and travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Inspection, analysis, and determination of root causes of building envelope and building material failures.
• Conducting analytical and computer problem solving.
• Performing field investigations and diagnostic surveys.
• Preparing technical reports and presentations.
• Marketing to new and existing clients.
• Successfully managing projects.
