Job summary

Exponent, a premier engineering and scientific consulting firm, seeks a Senior Architect or Architectural Engineer for its Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in Irvine, CA and other West Coast locations. The role leads regional engineering services as part of a national practice, involving inspections, diagnostics, report writing, and client development.

The candidate will typically hold a Ph.D. or Master’s in Architectural Engineering or Architecture, possess a US PE or AIA license,

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Architectural Engineering or Architecture and at least 2–3 years of consulting experience related to buildings.
• Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship.
• Professional license in Engineering (PE) and/or Architecture (AIA) in the United States.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to synthesize technical information.
• Clear written communication and technical writing skills are required.
• Willingness to travel and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Inspection, analysis, and determination of root causes of building envelope and building material failures.
• Conducting analytical and computer problem solving
• Performing field investigations and diagnostic surveys
• Preparing technical reports and presentations
