Job description

We are actively on the hunt for a Senior Architectural Designer to join an established firm in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. This is a role for a designer who lives for the "front end" of the process—the moment where a raw idea transforms into a visual reality.

If your sweet spot is taking a hand-sketched concept and breathing life into it through high-end software, this is where you belong. We are looking for someone who excels at the conceptual-to-digital translation, turning thoughts on paper into the renderings and schematics that win projects.

The Work:

  • The "Design Translator": You will be the bridge between analog ideation and digital execution, taking drawings and early-stage thoughts and moving them fluently into software.
  • Master of the "First Look": You’ll own the Schematic Design (SD) and Design Development (DD) phases, setting the aesthetic and spatial standards for the firm’s most high-profile projects.
  • Visual Narrative: You will create the renderings and schematics that tell the story of a building—capturing the atmosphere, light, and intent before a single brick is laid.
  • Strategic Design Lead: While you’ll be "in the tools" daily, you’ll also act as a mentor, guiding junior staff on how to elevate their visualization and presentation skills.

Your Professional Toolkit:

  • The Experience: 10+ years in the industry with a portfolio that highlights a deep focus on conceptual and schematic design.
  • The Software: Expert-level mastery of Revit, SketchUp, and Lumion. We need someone who moves fluidly between these platforms to produce client-ready visuals at pace.
  • The Expertise: A proven track record in the Commercial, Sports, and Education sectors.
  • The Credentials: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture; Licensure is preferred.

Why This Firm?

The firm offers a social, community-driven culture where the work-life balance is as intentional as the architecture. Think annual potlucks, volunteer events, and spring training outings in one of the most beautiful coastal regions in Florida.

  • Comp & Growth: Competitive base salary + 401(k) with a match (up to 5%).
  • Top-Tier Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical option (employee only), plus dental, vision, and a $25k life insurance policy.
  • Relocation: If you’re moving for the coastal lifestyle, relocation assistance is available.
  • Growth: Beyond immediate impact as a senior design leader, this opportunity offers a defined path to Directorship for the right individual.
