Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Own projects from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Lead coordination of architects, consultants, and contractors.
  • Serve as primary client contact and manage communications and decisions.
  • Direct design and documentation in SD, DD, and CD phases using Revit.
  • Coordinate building systems with engineers and oversee specifications.
  • Attend site visits, track progress, and manage closeout documentation.
  • Mentor internal team members and contribute to studio culture.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Project Architect / Project Manager who is strategic, highly organized, and technically proficient, with a strong ability to build and lead productive relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors. This role requires a professional who takes ownership of projects from initial kickoff through construction administration, guiding the design team to deliver work aligned with the Owner’s scope, schedule, budget, and design vision.

In this role, you will lead and actively participate in all phases of design and documentation, while serving as the primary point of contact for project communication and coordination. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and confident in decision‑making, with a passion for thoughtful design, quality documentation, and collaborative leadership. This position offers significant responsibility, professional trust, and the opportunity to work on meaningful, complex projects within a supportive studio environment.

Responsiblities

Take full ownership of projects from schematic design through construction administration, with support from internal team members based on project needs

Lead and coordinate architects, consultants, and contractors to maintain project goals and design intent

Serve as the primary client contact, managing communication, expectations, and key decisions

Design & Documentation

Lead and actively participate in SD, DD, and CD phases using Revit

Produce and oversee high-quality, coordinated construction documents consistent with firm standards

Communicate design ideas through Revit (required); SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred

Technical Coordination

Coordinate major building systems with engineering consultants

Apply working knowledge of building codes, building systems, and construction methods to minimize project risk

Research materials and products and coordinate specifications in collaboration with the firm's specifications writer

Construction Administration (Leading and/or Supporting as needed)

Efficiently process project documentation throughout construction

Administer contract documents and oversee the project ensuring that the construction team adheres to the design intent in the documents

Manage exposure to potential financial and professional liabilities

Represent the firm in a professional manner, while maintaining our core values with clients, consultants and contractors

Review & markup RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, samples, product data, testing and specialty engineering to ensure material quality and specifications are being upheld

Track progression of project and review contractor's compliance with the construction schedule

Regular site visits, which include attending Owner/ Architect/Contractor meetings and creation and distribution of field reports of observations

Manage project closeout, including construction punch list, O&M manuals, warranties and record documents

Mentor and collaborate with internal team members

Contribute to a positive, organized, and proactive studio culture

Qualifications
Required

10+ years of experience in an architectural office

Experience in one or more of the following project types is preferred: Education, Aviation, Cultural (Performing Arts Centers), Commercial, Civic or Sports facilities

Accommodating individual with a sense of urgency to multi-task on multiple projects and assignments

Comfortable working collaboratively while also managing responsibilities independently

Strong graphic and technical skills with the ability to translate design concepts into coordinated construction documents, including understanding of drawing standards and code compliance

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Regular travel to projects sites is required

Preferred (nice to have but not a must)

Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program

Florida architectural licensure preferred; candidates pursuing licensure or reciprocity will be considered

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation

A salary fully commensurate with experience and credentials will be accompanied by a complete fringe benefit package, including matching 401(k), insurance options and paid time off, among others.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (Optional remote 1 day a week)
