Job summary

Capital One seeks a Distinguished Engineer to shape the future of IAM in a cloud-first, regulated environment. You will drive Just-In-Time access, policy-based security, and an identity-as-a-service mindset across teams, governance, and platforms.

You will lead multi-discipline architects, articulate a bold technical vision, and design high-scale, resilient systems that balance agility with regulatory compliance, while mentoring engineers and promoting technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 7 years of experience in Software engineering and solution architecture
• At least 7 years of experience in Enterprise architecture and design patterns
• 10+ years of professional experience coding in Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift
• 8+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
• 3+ years of experience with public or private cloud technologies
• 1+ years of experience with IAM
• 3+ years of experience modernizing legacy systems
• 1+ years of experience with AI coding tools

• Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation
• Serve as an authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics, such as performance, scalability and operability
