Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Architect to join the Network Operations Systems Group in the United States. You will help design and maintain high‑reliability systems for Akamai's connected cloud, supporting 300k+ servers worldwide, with a strong emphasis on automation, scalability and security.

You will collaborate with product management, engineering, and security teams to deliver robust, scalable software solutions and to drive architectural standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12 years experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Distributed system architecture design with scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.
• Present and support architectural and security designs and technical visions to internal cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in software development life cycle in Unix/Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with product management and engineering teams to describe and design solutions aligned with Akamai's strategy and roadmap.
• Presenting and supporting architectural designs and technical visions to internal cross‑functional teams
• Defining and implementing standards for systems design, development, comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices
• Designing reliable, high‑quality, usable software that meets the needs of our business for robust, scalable, and highly available systems
• Conducting research on emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation
