Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Architect to design and maintain scalable, highly available systems underpinning our global network. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to align solutions with roadmaps, and drive architectural standards across the organization.

The role focuses on automation, reliability, and security in a large-scale environment, with opportunities to influence technology strategy and engage with cross-functional teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• 12 years experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid experience in distributed system architecture design and implementation, with a track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.
• Experience in software development life cycle including in the Unix/Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with product management and engineering teams to describe and design solutions aligned with Akamai's strategy and roadmap.
• Presenting and supporting architectural designs and technical visions to internal cross-functional teams
• Defining and implementing standards for systems design, development, comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices
• Designing reliable, high-quality, usable software that meets the needs of our business for robust, scalable, and highly available systems
• Conducting research on emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation
