Job summary

Actalent in Holland, MI is seeking an experienced Architect to lead design and documentation from concept through construction. You will coordinate with leadership, clients, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality construction documents and renderings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university.
• Active architectural board licensure and registration in Michigan.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in architecture.

Responsibilities

• Understand the Architectural Practice Leader's expectations and translate them into actionable project plans.
• Review project scope and contractual obligations for professional services agreements to ensure deliverables and responsibilities.
• Consult with clients to identify requirements, approximate budget, schedule, and future needs.
• Determine client preferences and integrate into cohesive architectural solutions.
• Collaborate with clients to prioritize program requirements and project goals.
• Prepare 3D renderings and presentations illustrating design options.
• Coordinate the project team and lead multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Lead code review and ensure designs meet building codes and standards.
• Manage communication among team members and maintain alignment across disciplines.
• Create and organize project documentation with consistent formats and standards.
• Review documents for accuracy and minimize errors through quality control.
• Maintain design schedules and milestones across all phases.
• Develop detailed plans integrating civil, structural, electrical, HVAC, and fire protection documents.
• Present concepts and revisions to clients for approval and feedback.
• Modify plans addressing comments, code issues, site constraints, and coordination.
• Prepare drawings and specs for bids and pricing.
• Collaborate with estimator and project manager on trade selection and constructability.
• Work with construction teams to address design questions and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Perform other related architectural duties as assigned.
• Oversee and mentor Architectural Designers for growth and project success.
• Partner to create renderings and graphics supporting business development.
