Job summary

Zyve is seeking a Senior Architect for on-site work in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on labs, clean rooms, and industrial projects from concept to construction documents, requiring a CA license and 10+ years in design or management.

You will lead design efforts, coordinate with cross-functional teams, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with Title 24, CBC, and local codes while engaging with planning departments to secure permits.

Qualifications

• Licensed Architect in the state of California.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design or project management, with demonstrated expertise in labs, clean rooms, and industrial facilities.
• Proven ability to manage projects independently from inception through construction documentation and to oversee teams and consultants throughout the design development process.
• Advanced production skills with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• In-depth knowledge of Title 24, California Building Code, and local Building and Fire Codes.
• Experience navigating local planning and building department processes, including securing zoning approvals, entitlements, and building permits. (DSA and HCAI experience are a plus.)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex industrial and technology projects, including labs, commercial office spaces, clean rooms, and manufacturing facilities, from concept through construction documents.
• Oversee all phases of project execution, ensuring quality, code compliance, and effective coordination among design, engineering, and construction teams.
• Serve as the primary project contact, representing the organization with client management and end-users, and presenting designs and project updates.
• Direct and mentor teams of architects, engineers, and consultants, fostering collaboration, creativity, and professional growth.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed architectural drawings and reports using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ensure all designs comply with current Title 24, California Building Code (CBC), and local Building and Fire Codes.
• Navigate and manage local planning and building department approval processes, including zoning approvals, entitlements, and building permits.
