We are seeking an experienced Architectural Designer with laboratory planning experience to support complex life sciences projects. This role is ideal for a designer who is comfortable working through detailed architectural drawings, coordinating lab equipment layouts, and contributing across all phases of design with a strong focus on construction administration.
Responsibilities
- Support laboratory planning and design, including integration of biosafety cabinets, lab safety levels, and specialized equipment
- Develop accurate architectural drawings and documentation with strong attention to detail
- Locate and coordinate lab equipment within architectural plans
- Read, interpret, and produce architectural and construction drawings
- Contribute through all project phases, with particular expertise in the Construction Administration (CA) phase
- Prepare and support client presentations and design reviews
- Collaborate closely with project teams in a studio-based design environment
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in an architectural design firm or similar professional setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field
- Proven experience with laboratory planning and technical drafting
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong presentation and graphic skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative studio environment
Preferred Qualifications
- California architectural registration (desired, not required)
- Deep understanding of lab safety requirements and technical constraints
