We are seeking an experienced Architectural Designer with laboratory planning experience to support complex life sciences projects. This role is ideal for a designer who is comfortable working through detailed architectural drawings, coordinating lab equipment layouts, and contributing across all phases of design with a strong focus on construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory planning and design, including integration of biosafety cabinets, lab safety levels, and specialized equipment
• Develop accurate architectural drawings and documentation with strong attention to detail
• Locate and coordinate lab equipment within architectural plans
• Read, interpret, and produce architectural and construction drawings
• Contribute through all project phases, with particular expertise in the Construction Administration (CA) phase
• Prepare and support client presentations and design reviews
• Collaborate closely with project teams in a studio-based design environment

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in an architectural design firm or similar professional setting
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field
• Proven experience with laboratory planning and technical drafting
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong presentation and graphic skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative studio environment

Preferred Qualifications

• California architectural registration (desired, not required)
• Deep understanding of lab safety requirements and technical constraints
