Job summary

GHX is seeking a hands-on architect to own integration and data architecture across a distributed system landscape. You will partner with application teams to set direction, establish patterns for outbox, CDC, and streaming vs batch, and guide the move to a cloud-native messaging platform.

You’ll design REST APIs, govern versioning, and ensure data contracts while mentoring engineers and driving design reviews.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building distributed systems and shipping production code.
• Deep experience with event-driven architecture, pub/sub, and failure handling.
• Hands-on AWS data and integration services (SQS, SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora).
• Strong data architecture fundamentals across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing REST APIs with versioning and data contracts.

Responsibilities

• Define integration patterns and eventing strategies for scalable services.
• Guide service boundary design, data ownership, and cross-service references.
• Own messaging layer design, schema contracts, and operational monitoring.
• Lead migration toward cloud-native messaging platforms and governance.
• Cast technical risk and communicate trade-offs to leadership.
