Job summary

GHX is seeking a hands-on senior architect to shepherd long-term data modeling, access patterns, and reliable data flows across services. You will partner with application teams to establish integration standards, event-driven design, and scalable architecture for a cloud-native future.

You will lead decisions on streaming vs batch, REST API governance, and cross-team data synchronization, while guiding teams through schema, contracts, and operational reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building distributed systems with hands-on development.
• Deep experience with event-driven architecture and pub/sub messaging.
• Hands-on AWS data/integration services: SQS, SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora.
• Experience designing REST APIs with versioning and data contracts.
• Ability to work with application teams during service decomposition and establish standards.
• Strong communication and ability to present trade-offs to leadership.
• Experience with AI-assisted tooling and coding agents is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define integration patterns (outbox, saga, CDC) and event-driven flows.
• Lead architectural direction for cloud-native messaging platform replacement.
• Guide service boundaries and data ownership across services.
• Establish API governance, versioning, and schema compatibility.
• Oversee data schema design, ORM trade-offs, and scalable access patterns.
• Run design reviews and create decision records for engineering leadership.
