Job summary

A Senior Architect at Akamai Cloud will lead the architecture and design of next-generation infrastructure services within the Compute platform. You will work embedded in engineering teams, guiding design choices and technology selections for IaaS and Kubernetes-based offerings.

Responsibilities include owning system design, building PoCs, informing product direction, and mentoring teams within an Agile environment to deliver scalable, highly available services.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
• Expertise in OS, hypervisors, virtualization, and cloud-native technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals, containers, and distributed production services.

Responsibilities

• Own system design and implementation, guiding engineering while aligning with the big picture.
• Build PoCs to inform design choices and technology selections.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects to shape product direction.
• Help shape the engineering roadmap with stakeholders.
• Develop best practices, share knowledge, and mentor others.
• Collaborate with Agile teams for rapid, open communication.
