Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Architect to lead solution engineering and automation across PBM and enterprise systems. You will drive end-to-end architecture, incubate innovative solutions, and partner with business leaders to deliver measurable value while shaping the technology strategy for health care platforms.

Responsibilities include guiding architecture reviews, cloud maturity, and implementation of AI/ML capabilities, automation frameworks, and modern design patterns.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in overall design/development experience
• Extensive cloud platform expertise with 7+ years on GCP; Azure and AWS familiarity
• Expert in Software Architecture/Design patterns incl. Domain Driven Architecture & Microservices
• Proficiency in Security, Automation and Observability; IT operations knowledge
• Experience with enterprise development tools, SDLC methodologies and Observability platforms
• Experience with integration layers between modern applications and legacy infra; streaming tech like Kafka/Pulsar
• Proven success influencing major technology decisions and leading large teams
• Experience automating complex processes and building intelligent automation (RPA) solutions

Responsibilities

• Provide technology leadership and solution oversight to ensure architecture adherence and asset reuse
• Lead Buy vs Build analysis and provide recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data
• Drive modernization opportunities across PBM technology and guide architecture communities
• Develop reference architecture and cloud-native PBM solutions; mentor App Dev and EA teams
• Advise dev teams on performance and technical roadblocks in strategic initiatives
• Develop forward-looking technology roadmaps aligned with industry trends
• Architect solutions leveraging AI/ML capabilities (Generative AI, CV, NLP, Predictive Analytics)
• Design and implement automation frameworks to improve operational efficiency
• Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge tools and platforms to boost productivity
• Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to drive innovation and value
