Job Description

This role is based remotely, but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Warren, MI Innovation Center or Austin, TX Innovation Center, you are expected to report to that location at least three times a week. This job may be eligible for relocation.

As part of the larger MarTech Strategy and Solutions team, the Senior MarTech Solutions Architect is a key leader responsible for designing, developing, and deploying modern marketing capabilities at General Motors. This role focuses on marketing strategy and technology, leading the future direction of platforms that utilize cutting-edge technology to deliver personalized, data-driven experiences using our Marketing Technology stack, including Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Personalization engines, Campaign Management tools (email, SMS, push notifications, in-vehicle notifications), AdTech, and more.

This role requires a self-starter with deep expertise in marketing technology, particularly Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Orchestration, and Adobe Campaign, along with experience in data capture and architecture. We seek a creative problem solver and collaborator who can establish a clear vision and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to realize that vision. Proven experience in designing and building marketing technology tools across the full MarTech spectrum (personalization, media activation, email campaign management, CMS, AdTech, identity resolution, etc.) is essential.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead solution design for Adobe AEP and Campaign tools (AJO, CJO, ACC, etc.), aligning with business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand strategies and requirements, translating them into technical roadmaps and designs.
  • Configure and set up Adobe Experience Platform and Campaign following best practices and industry standards.
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps in partnership with Product Management and Engineering to meet business and platform goals.
  • Develop and implement data models, schemas, workflows within Adobe AEP and Real-time CDP, and integrate Adobe AEP with other Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions and third-party systems.
  • Design data integration strategies to ensure seamless data flow and define data quality standards within Adobe AEP and Campaign.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to data security, privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) with proper monitoring.
  • Design solutions that meet architectural requirements such as scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability, and security.
  • Engage with Adobe representatives to stay updated on platform enhancements, new features, and evaluate platform add-ons and extensions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including business leads, product managers, developers, and data engineers to ensure alignment.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training on Adobe AEP and Campaign concepts and best practices.
  • Model GM values and cultural behaviors, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, action-oriented mindset.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience architecting and implementing digital marketing solutions in large corporate environments.
  • 5+ years of extensive experience with Adobe Experience Platform and Adobe Campaign in on-premise and cloud architectures.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Experience Platform, Real-time CDP, Adobe Campaign, Adobe Journey Optimizer, and bonus experience with Adobe Target and Analytics, as well as SQL, scripting, and data manipulation.
  • Strong knowledge of software development principles, methodologies, and Agile practices.
  • Experience designing scalable, distributed systems and system integration patterns (JSON, REST, SOAP, ESB, APIs).
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and modeling tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Relevant Adobe certifications (e.g., Adobe Certified Expert) are a plus.
