Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Archaeologist for the West region with focus on the Great Basin. This role offers (fully or partially remote) flexibility for candidates in Nevada, Utah, or California, and requires experience across archaeology, built environment, tribal resources, and landscapes.

You will conduct historical research, fieldwork, and report writing for archaeology studies and help implement regulatory NEPA/NHPA solutions, collaborating with a team of specialists to deliver regulatory

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or related field.
• Experience working within NEPA and Section 106 regulatory requirements.
• Experience obtaining concurrence NHPA Section 106 findings and serving as archaeology lead for the full cycle of Section 106 review.
• Registered Professional Archaeologist certification.
• Strong fieldwork skills including pedestrian and subsurface survey, testing and evaluation, and a working knowledge of GPS.
• Experience with California Environmental Quality Act regulatory requirements.
• Background working with private and public sector clients and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform historical research, fieldwork, and report writing for archaeology studies and compliance with NEPA/NHPA requirements.
• Manage client contact, budgets, invoicing, schedules and staffing on environmental projects.
• Lead or participate in investigations identifying resources and evaluating effects for NRHP decisions.
• Collaborate with archaeologists, historians, GIS specialists and planners on integrated teams.
• Support long-term client objectives from programmatic planning to operations and maintenance.
