Job summary

ICF is seeking an early career Archaeologist to support our West region with a focus on the Great Basin. The role may be fully or partially remote, welcoming applicants across NV, UT, or CA.

You will conduct historical research, fieldwork, and report writing to support NEPA and NHPA compliance. You will join a multidisciplinary team of archaeologists, historians, GIS specialists, and planners to deliver regulatory solutions and project support for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in cultural resources management.
• Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or related field (preferred).
• Registered Professional Archaeologist (preferred).
• Working knowledge NEPA and Section 106 regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Great Basin native American tribes and regional contexts.
• Strong fieldwork skills including pedestrian and subsurface survey, testing and evaluation, and GPS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Participate in investigations that identify and evaluate resources for National Register of Historic Places, assess project effects on resources, develop resource management recommendations, and provide support to address complex management challenges.
• Collaborate in integrated teams of cultural resources specialists to solve problems alongside natural resources scientists, planners, regulators, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Support clients to achieve long-term objectives and efficiencies, from programmatic strategies and feasibility studies through implementation, operations, and maintenance.
