Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Senior Archaeologist / Project Manager to be based out of our Reno, Nevada office.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and managing all phases of cultural resources projects including survey, archaeological monitoring, testing and data recovery.
  • Interacting with clients, land managers, and Tribes.
  • Technical report production.
  • Preparing scopes of work and cost estimates.
  • Meeting project scope, schedule, and budget obligations.
  • Conducting quality control/quality assurance reviews of field data and reports.
  • Some administrative duties and office management such as recruiting and hiring temporary staff, supervising and mentoring staff, participating in marketing and business development efforts, and managing Logan Simpsons equipment and fleet in Nevada.

Position Requires:

  • Qualifications for permitting as Principal Investigator for multiple Nevada BLM Districts.
  • 6+ years of archaeology consulting or agency experience including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in our Reno office up to 3 days per week.
  • Possess a valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
  • Experience independently preparing, reviewing, and editing complex technical documents for a full range of cultural resources projects.
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork when needed.
  • 3+ years of archaeology experience in the Great Basin or the Southwest.
  • Masters degree in Anthropology or closely related field, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications:

  • A Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA).
  • Meets the Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology.
  • Previous experience preparing cultural resources sections for documents related to the Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Compensation:

This is a full-time position paid on a salaried basis between $68,640 to $95,680 annually, depending on experience and education.
