Job summary

TTL, Inc. is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to join our cultural resources team as a Principal Investigator in Texas. You will lead archaeological projects across TX, LA, OK, and surrounding states, ensuring compliance with Section 106 and NEPA while managing field crews and project budgets.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in archaeology, anthropology, history, historic preservation, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of archaeological field experience, preferably CRM.
• Ability to obtain regionally-specific permits (ARPA, THC Antiquities).
• Knowledge of Section 106, NEPA, and related regulations.
• Experience supervising archaeological projects in the Southern/Gulf States.
• Strong technical writing ability with authored/co-authored reports.
• Proficiency with GPS, Trimble, total station, GIS tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Principal Investigator for archaeological projects from desktop reviews to data recovery.
• Supervise field teams, including technicians and crew chiefs.
• Develop research designs and permit applications for archaeological investigations.
• Conduct archival research and field surveys to identify resources.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and landowners/land agents.
• Prepare technical reports and NEPA/Section 106 documentation.
• Curate materials and field records in repositories.
• Mentor junior staff and provide field protocols guidance.
• Assist with proposals, budgeting, and business development.
