Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. is seeking an Archaeologist VI to serve as a subject matter expert on cultural resource projects across New Mexico. The role involves leading field surveys, data interpretation, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on producing final reports and site documentation.

The position is part-time or on-call with compensation of $45-$55 per hour depending on experience, and requires extensive archaeology credentials and field proficiency in NM contexts.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field.
• Extensive field and reporting experience on cultural resource projects.
• Ability to work in NM archaeology contexts and regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Principal Investigator for assigned projects and reports.
• Provide subject matter expertise in New Mexico archaeology including field methods.
• Conduct Class III/Phase I surveys and document sites and IOs/IFs.
• Perform Testing/Phase 2 and Data Recoveries/Phase 3 as needed.
• Prepare draft deliverables and coordinate submissions to agencies.
• Utilize ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123 with GPS for data collection.
• Review site locations and maintain regular attendance and safety compliance.
