Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to provide desktop and field-based cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction across the western United States. The role involves NHPA, NEPA compliance, and working with government, military, and commercial clients.

You will lead, mentor, and manage large projects, coordinate with engineers and project managers, and help grow business opportunities while operating in a hybrid environment with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology.
• Meet Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards for Archaeology.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional archaeological fieldwork experience.
• 3 to 5 years experience as a Principal Investigator.
• Must be capable of walking long distances over uneven terrain and carrying field equipment.
• Willingness to travel frequently for extended periods.
• Experience using GPS technology.

Responsibilities

• Track and provide updates on discipline-specific topics.
• Forecast workload and staffing needs.
• Manage large, complex cultural resource projects.
• Serve as primary client contact for large programs and controversial projects.
• Mentor career and associate professionals and provide feedback.
• Contribute to business development for large contracts.
• Coordinate with cultural resources leaders across geographies.
• Provide senior review and support for project delivery and innovation.
