Job summary

Meade, a full-service design firm, seeks an Electrical Engineer with Arc Flash expertise to join our design team. The role covers data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile projects, requiring collaboration with MEI staff, clients, and vendors.

Travel to job sites may be needed for observations and meetings. Responsibilities include electrical system design, arc flash analyses, and coordination with various disciplines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Electrical Engineering design experience in the construction or power systems industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Electrical P.E. license or Engineering in Training certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with Arc Flash Studies, Protective Device Coordination, and Short Circuit Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems and perform detailed design calculations focusing on power system analysis.
• Lead and perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Protective Device Coordination using industry-standard software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, Easy Power).
• Review, signing, and sealing of projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Conduct site visits for data collection, validation of as-built conditions, and client coordination for Arc Flash labeling and electrical safety compliance.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders; prepare record drawings; participate in inspections and commissioning work.
• Write and edit specifications for electrical equipment and systems, including OCP devices, switchgear, and transformers.
• Ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
• Assist in developing internal standards and templates for electrical safety analysis deliverables.
