Job description

Overall, this individual will be performing on-site electrical distribution system evaluations and arc flash risk assessment calculations. Typical activities include supporting the sales team, working with clients to determine appropriate arc flash solutions, gathering electrical system data, and performing electrical engineering calculations. The role also involves coordinating and facilitating arc flash training and certifications. Senior-level responsibilities include serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting the team as a reference point, and leading process improvement efforts for arc flash services. This position is home office based and requires residence within 50 miles of a major metropolitan airport. Lead roles may supervise other field engineers.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Perform electrical power system and engineering studies across various industries.
  2. Assist sales team and communicate with clients about arc flash services.
  3. Manage projects from kickoff to closeout with customers.
  4. Evaluate documents and electrical data for project proposals.
  5. Conduct on-site electrical system assessments documenting configurations, ratings, and protective device info.
  6. Perform power system studies such as arc flash, short circuit, and fault current analyses.
  7. Provide general and site-specific arc flash training for customers.
  8. Conduct arc flash audits, gap analyses, create reports, and communicate findings.
  9. Identify electrical code violations.
  10. Create arc flash reports including labels, diagrams, and safety recommendations.
  11. Serve as SME and trainer on arc flash safety, assessments, audits, and calculations.
Requirements:
  • Willing to travel biweekly, with weekends at home.
  • An engineering degree is a plus but not required; training provided for field work and software.
  • Experience with electrical field work or SKM software is a plus.
