Job summary

You bring 4+ years in AR or accounting, a degree in accounting/finance, strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot), and ERP experience (SAP/NetSuite/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics) to drive accuracy and timely collections.

Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing, cash application, collections, account reconciliation, and dispute resolution.
• Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding balances to reduce delinquency and improve cash flow.
• Research and resolve customer billing issues, payment discrepancies, short pays, and deductions.
• Apply customer payments accurately and ensure proper documentation of account activity.
• Analyze customer accounts and recommend appropriate collection strategies.
• Prepare and maintain AR reports, aging analyses, and collection metrics for management review.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting teams to resolve account issues and improve payment performance.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including AR reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support audits by providing requested documentation and account analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve AR processes, controls, and efficiencies.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior AR staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounts receivable or accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of AR processes, billing, cash application, and account reconciliations.
• Experience managing high-volume customer accounts and collections activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis functions.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
