Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist in Brentwood, TN. The role requires managing the full AR lifecycle, ensuring accurate invoicing, cash application, and collections while maintaining strong internal controls.

You will analyze customer accounts, monitor aging, and collaborate with Sales and Accounting to optimize cash flow and reduce delinquencies. A degree in a related field with 4+ years of AR experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounts receivable or accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of AR processes, billing, cash application, and reconciliations.
• Experience with high-volume customer accounts and collections.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data analysis functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing, cash application, collections, account reconciliation, and dispute resolution.
• Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding balances to reduce delinquency and improve cash flow.
• Research and resolve customer billing issues, payment discrepancies, short pays, and deductions.
• Apply customer payments accurately and ensure proper documentation of account activity.
• Analyze customer accounts and recommend appropriate collection strategies.
• Prepare and maintain AR reports, aging analyses, and collection metrics for management review.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting teams to resolve account issues and improve payment performance.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including AR reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support audits by providing requested documentation and account analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve AR processes, controls, and efficiencies.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior AR staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
