Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) - Division of Aging and Adult Services in Flagstaff seeks an Adult Protective Services (APS) Investigator. This role focuses on vulnerable adults 18+ who are abused, neglected, or exploited, performing high-level case work and coordinating services.

You will conduct investigations, prepare detailed reports, and collaborate with agencies, while travel may be required to meet timelines and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state statutes and DES/DAAS regulations.
• Case investigation and social work practices and principles.
• HIPAA and safeguarding sensitive information.
• Interventions for behavioral and psychological symptoms.
• Understanding of guardianship and conservatorship processes.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and assess complex cases involving vulnerable adults.
• Travel as required to complete investigations within timeframes.
• Write comprehensive progress notes and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate case files and provide community information.
• Collaborate with clients, providers, and community resources.
• Testify in case-related court appearances.
