Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an Adult Protective Services Investigator to carry out complex case investigations for vulnerable adults 18+ who may be abused or exploited. This role requires extensive travel and collaboration with community partners to deliver essential services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Rehabilitation, Healthcare, or a closely related field.
• One year of experience providing professional Case Management / Investigations Services (Intake, Needs Assessment, Service Planning, and Monitoring and Evaluation)

Responsibilities

• Investigate and assess the most complex cases involving vulnerable adults 18+ who may be abused, neglected, or exploited.
• Complete comprehensive progress notes, case plans, risk and safety assessments, and closure summaries.
• Maintain accurate case files and provide information or in-service to community agencies and the public.
• Refer clients for Guardianship/Conservatorship as needed and provide court testimony when required.
• Collaborate with clients, providers, and resources to deliver appropriate services.
