Job summary

Counterpart Health is transforming healthcare with Counterpart Assistant to support primary care and improve patient outcomes. We are seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to hunt for vulnerabilities and raise the security floor across the platform.

This hands-on role covers vulnerability discovery, system hardening, PHI protection, AI-assisted security, and mentorship across engineering teams in a remote-friendly setup.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering and 4+ years focused on application security, vulnerability research, and penetration testing.
• Experience identifying vulnerabilities with custom tooling you’ve built.
• Experience using AI to find vulnerabilities with guardrails in place.

Responsibilities

• Actively hunt for and close security vulnerabilities across Counterpart Assistant.
• Harden systems, services, and endpoints; establish strong security monitoring.
• Safeguard PHI and monitor deidentification practices; close data leakage paths.
