Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist to lead computational modeling and simulation for an advanced UTS analytics program in Herndon, VA. You will drive high‑fidelity models, validate assumptions, and collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and subject matter experts to deliver defensible analytical results for military decision-makers.

Required are a strong background in physics/math, 12+ years of experience, and an active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance and CI poly required.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in scientific modeling and analytics.
• Master’s or PhD in physics, mathematics, statistics, OR engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as scientific lead for computational modeling and simulation across the program.
• Develop high‑fidelity models and validate scientific assumptions.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure meaningful features are used.
• Assess uncertainty and ensure outputs are scientifically defensible for decision support.
