Job summary

Amazon seeks a Senior Applied Scientist to join the Personalization team in Seattle. You will lead scientific innovation across a multidisciplinary group, building state-of-the-art LLM-based techniques and transformer models to understand customer intent and improve real-time ranking.

You will mentor junior scientists, drive a cohesive science roadmap, and ship features that reach millions of customers. The role requires 3+ years of ML experience, a PhD or equivalent, and strong hands-on coding

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications
• PhD, or Master’s with 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Responsibilities

• Innovate new features and models with huge impact on the customer experience.
• Be a key leader on a multidisciplinary team across science, product, design, and engineering.
• Drive the science roadmap across multiple teams and coordinate a cohesive science agenda.
