Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Applied Scientist on the WW Amazon Logistics, Business Analytics team in Bellevue, WA. You will own data-driven projects that improve delivery scheduling, costs, and customer experience by building scalable models and tools.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in OR/Statistics/Engineering or related field, plus hands-on ML/modeling experience and strong programming skills in Java/C++/Python. You will manage multiple projects and influence decisions with data.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's with 4+ years of CS/CE/ML or related field experience.
• Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
• 1+ years of programming in Java, C++, or Python or related language.
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing.

Responsibilities

• Develop input and assumptions based preexisting models to estimate costs and savings for varying network growth.
• Create metrics to measure business performance and identify root causes and trends.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with tech teams and product managers to build new tools and systems.
