Job summary

Capital One is building trustworthy AI systems to reimagine banking through real-time, intelligent customer experiences. The AI Foundations team partners with product, technology, and business leaders to apply state-of-the-art AI to business needs.

You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products and production-scale solutions using PyTorch, AWS, HuggingFace, and Lightning.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in a relevant field with years of applied research experience as per listed qualifications.
• Strong publication record or equivalent demonstrated by research impact and open-source contributions.
• Experience building AI foundation models and solutions using open-source tools and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that change customer interactions.
• Leverage PyTorch, AWS, HuggingFace, and related tools to analyze large numerical and textual data.
• Build AI foundation models from design through training, evaluation, validation, and deployment.
• Translate research breakthroughs into production-ready capabilities for customer experiences.
• Lead cross-functional threads bridging prototype models with ML engineering for production impact.
