AI Engineer – Construction Tech (In-Person, SF Bay Area)

I’m working with an early-stage client that’s transforming how construction teams navigate one of the industry’s biggest bottlenecks—permitting. Their mission is to help developers, builders, architects, and engineers break ground faster by streamlining a historically fragmented and time-consuming process using modern software and AI.

About the Role

They’re looking to bring on a senior-level AI/ML Engineer to be a foundational part of their product team. You’ll have the chance to shape the AI roadmap, own key initiatives, and work across engineering, product, and design. It’s a highly cross-functional and technical role focused on:

• Building and deploying AI-powered features that work with unstructured municipal documentation and codes
• Working with large language models (LLMs), RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, and vector search
• Setting up foundational AI infrastructure (e.g. LangChain, Docker, vector DBs)
• Integrating models into a modern stack (React, TypeScript, Google Cloud, etc.)
• Driving AI strategy and owning end-to-end deployment of ML systems

Who We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience working on AI/ML systems in a product-focused tech company
• Strong background in LLMs, natural language processing, and end-to-end ML workflows
• Comfort with ambiguity and a product mindset—able to identify opportunities and deliver impact
• Excitement about working in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup
• Must be located in the SF Bay Area and able to work in-office 4 days/week
