Job summary

Nederman Corporation seeks an Applications Engineer for our US division, headquartered in Charlotte. This role leads on-site integration of sold projects, collaborating with customers, sales managers and project teams to design and gain acceptance of turnkey solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong engineering, solution-design capabilities and excellent communication with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a product/solutions engineer in key target markets.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/AutoDesk design software & Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP and CRM systems highly desired.
• Ability to perform DFMEA activities (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) is preferred.
• Willingness to learn new technology and take responsibility for own development and performance.
• Working knowledge of industrial ventilation design and air pollution control solutions is required.
• Able to travel 25%+ domestically/internationally.
• Pro-active self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Field Sales, Product Managers and Engineering to answer sizing, application and modification questions; coordinate with internal teams to develop special quotes.
• Apply engineering principles to ensure compliant, customer-focused solutions and assist in budgeting and timelines.
• Develop solution concepts and sales proposals for complex projects using ProQuote to model systems and estimate costs.
• Lead technical teams on complex solutions; define operation sequences and oversee design to meet safety/technical standards.
• Analyze issues and provide creative solutions; use DFMEA to identify design risks.
• Participate in localization, standardization, and Basis of Design (BOD) programs to meet local market needs.
• Deep-dive into application problems, build internal tools, monitor performance, and optimize reliability.
• Contribute to knowledge base and serve as technical liaison to customers and purchasing teams.
• Support multiple departments with technical guidance and ensure upgrades to existing solutions during site evaluations.
• Maintain CRM records and coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management and Operations.
