Job summary

Masis Professional Group partners with a local manufacturer to seek a Senior Applications Engineer in Danvers, MA or Fiskdale, MA. The role focuses on leading technical solutions across silicone rubber and plastic applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust manufacturing solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in injection molding or related fields, a BS in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD interpretation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in injection molding, molds, applications engineering or related fields.
• BS in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; ITAR compliant.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and ability to read 2D drawings (CAD skills).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/13485 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate customer silicone rubber and plastic applications for manufacturability.
• Identify tooling, automation, injection molding and risk-reduction strategies.
• Collaborate with mold making, equipment, automation, quality and materials teams.
• Develop cost models, margins, and quotation strategies.
• Lead tradeoff discussions and commit to feasible plans.
• Lead design for manufacturing using SolidWorks, mold filling analysis, CT scanning.
• Guide prototyping and risk reduction for key projects.
• Lead cross-department discussions and represent applications engineering in reviews.
