Job summary

Masis Professional Group is seeking an Applications Engineer in Danvers, MA or Fiskdale, MA to discover technical solutions for customers and support the engineering team during implementation.

Responsibilities include evaluating applications, leading tooling and molding strategies, and collaborating with mold-making and automation experts. Prototyping support and design-for-manufacturing leadership are also part of the role.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in applications engineering or related manufacturing roles.
  • Bachelor of Science in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; ITAR compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer silicone rubber and plastic applications for manufacturing approaches.
  • Lead tooling, automation, and molding strategies for custom parts.
  • Collaborate with mold making, equipment, and materials experts to stay current with industry technologies.
  • Engineer cost models and articulate value through quotations.
  • Lead design-for-manufacturing using SolidWorks and related analyses.
  • Support prototyping and 3D mold design reviews on key projects.
  • Handoff new programs to the program manager and support technical needs.

Masis Professional Group has partnered with a local manufacturing company and is seeking an Applications Engineer in Danvers, MA or Fiskdale, MA.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Applications Engineer to discover technical solutions to customers’ needs and support company's engineering team with implementation.

What You’ll Do
  • Application Evaluation: Evaluate customer silicone rubber and plastic applications for manufacturing approaches.
  • Strategy Identification: Lead tooling, automation, injection molding, and risk reduction strategies to successfully manufacture custom parts.
  • Technology Collaboration: As a developing technical-commercial contributor, you’ll partner with mold making, equipment, automation, and material experts to stay up to date with the latest industry technologies.
  • Cost Modeling: Engineer cost models and effectively communicate the value of proposed solutions through quotations.
  • Customer Confidence: Communicates clearly, builds confidence, and honors commitments.
  • Design Leadership: Lead design for manufacturing activities using SolidWorks, mold filling analysis, CT scanning, and other technologies.
  • Prototyping Support: Support evaluations, prototyping and 3D mold design reviews on key projects.
  • Program Handoff: Manage the handoff of new programs to the program manager and support their technical needs.
What You'll Bring
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in applications engineering, manufacturing engineering, injection molding, mold design, technical sales, or a related technical manufacturing role preferred; medical device or other related manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Visa Status: Authorized to work in the U.S. and eligible to work without sponsorship. Must be ITAR compliant (US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software), alongside the ability to interpret 2D engineering drawings.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of plastic and silicone injection molding processes, molds, materials, and automation, with ISO 9001 and/or 13485 experience preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of business internally and externally.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in cleanroom environments, lift up to 15 pounds, and work at a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Travel: Ability to accommodate occasional domestic and international travel, alongside periodic, consistent travel between the Danvers, MA and Fiskdale, MA facilities.
