Job summary

EnerSys, headquartered in Reading, PA, seeks an Applications Engineer for the Energy Systems group at its corporate office in Reading. You will interact with customers, engineering, marketing, customer support, sales and suppliers to provide product support and ensure designs meet expectations.

Daily technical inquiries will be answered via phone and mail. Responsibilities include drafting designs in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, producing BOMs in SAP and BaaN, and supporting electrical and standby

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or related discipline.
• 2+ years in a related engineering role; electromechanical is desired.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of standby power equipment design and industry standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with lead-acid battery chemistries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support internal and external customers with engineering, technical information and installation information.
• Understanding standards (IEEE, ASCE) as they relate to customer requirements.
• Processing custom sales orders.
• Drafting support using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Creating BOMs for new kits and batteries in BaaN and SAP.
• Authorize / approve ECOs, drawings, and designs.
• Support Nuclear safety related projects.
