About the Organization
A FOUNDATION BUILT ON GREATER ATLANTA’S FUTURE The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is one of the nation's largest community foundations, with over $1.7 billion in assets and more than seven decades of philanthropic leadership. Through grants, donor services, and civic partnerships, CFGA advances equity and opportunity across 23 counties in the Greater Atlanta region. Our Information Technology team enables that mission by ensuring the Foundation's systems, data, and applications operate with the rigor and reliability our work demands.
The Role WHERE SYSTEMS MEET MISSION
The Senior Applications & Data Analyst serves as the primary owner of CFGA's enterprise application portfolio — including ERP, CRM, and cloud-hosted business systems — while ensuring data integrity, meaningful reporting, and seamless integrations across the Foundation. This role is both hands-on and strategic: equal parts systems administrator, data engineer, project lead, and trusted partner to Finance, Programs, and Grants Management. The ideal candidate has navigated complex implementation cycles, can diagnose a broken workflow and redesign it, and understands that behind every data field is a person whose work depends on getting it right.
Key Responsibilities
What you’ll do
- ERP Administration & Implementation Lead or co‑lead end-to‑end ERP implementation and upgrade projects, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, training, and go‑live support
- Serve as the primary system administrator, managing user access, workflow configuration, and system integrity
- Partner with Finance, HR, and Operations to align ERP functionality with evolving business processes and reporting requirements
- Develop and maintain integration touchpoints between the ERP and downstream business systems
- CRM Administration & Implementation Administer and optimize the Foundation's CRM platform (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud, or equivalent), ensuring clean data, effective workflows, and strong user adoption
- Lead or co‑lead CRM implementation or migration projects, including data migration planning, stakeholder engagement, and training programs
- Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models that support donor stewardship, grant management, and community engagement activities
- Application Support & Portfolio Management Provide Tier2/3 support across the Foundation's software portfolio, troubleshooting complex issues and managing vendor escalations
- Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and data dictionaries
- Evaluate, recommend, and onboard new business applications aligned with organizational strategy
- Manage vendor relationships and service‑level agreements for key platforms
- Microsoft Azure & Cloud Infrastructure Administer Foundation systems hosted on Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL, Azure Active Directory/EntraID, and related cloud services
- Support data pipeline and warehouse development using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or comparable tools
- Ensure data governance, security compliance, and disaster recovery protocols are current, tested, and documented
- Monitor Azure resource utilization and recommend cost optimization strategies aligned with the Foundation's budget
- Data Analysis & Reporting Design and deliver reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that support executive decision‑making and programmatic reporting
- Conduct data quality audits and implement remediation strategies across core systems
- Collaborate with program, finance, and grants management staff to surface data‑driven insights
- Support annual audit and compliance reporting through accurate data extraction and reconciliation
Qualifications
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field or Related Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in applications administration, systems analysis, or IT project delivery
- Demonstrated ERP implementation or administration experience (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, or equivalent)
- Hands‑on CRM experience (Salesforce, Blackbaud CRM / Raiser's Edge, or equivalent) including configuration and data migration
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Azure — Azure AD / Entra ID, Azure SQL, and cloud storage
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational database management
- Ability to translate technical concepts clearly for non‑technical stakeholders
- Proven capacity to manage projects independently and deliver on deadline
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining constructive partnerships across departments
- Commitment to the CFGA mission of equity and shared prosperity for all
- Preferred Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-900, AZ-104, DP-900, or higher)
- Experience in nonprofit, philanthropy, foundation, or public sector environments
- Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable data visualization tools
- Experience with data integration platforms (Azure Data Factory, MuleSoft, Boomi, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with grants management systems (Fluxx, Submittable, or comparable platforms)
- PMP, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent project or service management certification
HOW YOU WORK
- Analytical & Systems Thinking - Approaches problems with structured curiosity — models data flows, traces root causes, and designs solutions that hold over time.
- Stakeholder Partnership - Builds trust with finance, program, and grants staff by listening first. Speaks plainly about what systems can and cannot do.
- Technical Versatility - Spans infrastructure, applications, and analytics without losing depth in any — moving between a cloud console and a data model in the same afternoon.
- Proactive Improvement - Identifies process gaps before they become incidents. Brings a short-list of solutions, not just a problem statement.
- Mission Alignment - Understands that data accuracy and system reliability directly support CFGA's ability to serve Greater Atlanta communities.
HYBRID SCHEDULE
The Community Foundation operates in a hybrid working environment with staff working in‑office three days per week and the opportunity to work two days remote per week if in good standing.
