Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Senior Application Support Specialist to ensure critical applications run smoothly in the Whippany, NJ office. You will work on Pega production support, troubleshooting, and enterprise integration, while driving incident, problem, and transformation initiatives with a focus on operational resilience.

To be successful as a Senior Application Support Specialist, you should have:

  • Pega Production Support, Application Troubleshooting, and Enterprise Integration Support
  • Experience in Incident, Problem, and Technology Transformation, supported by extensive ITIL knowledge
  • Client Onboarding, KYC, and Regulatory Workflow experience within a Wholesale Banking environment
  • Operational Resilience, Stability Engineering, Monitoring, and Automation capabilities
  • Considerable SQL, Linux/Unix, Stakeholder Engagement, and Continuous Improvement skills
Other Highly Valued Skills Include
  • Sense of accountability and proactivity, with the ability to drive issues through to successful resolution
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) knowledge, including monitoring and service resilience
  • Considerable Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) capabilities.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and data analysis to deliver actionable insights
  • Knowledge of Wholesale Banking and Client Onboarding processes and technologies

This role is located in our Whippany, NJ office.

Minimum Salary: $120,000

Maximum Salary: $175,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities
  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
