You’ll play a vital part in our success and in this role you will be a key driver in building our digital core SAP Transportation Management for our Inland Platform. Maersk is on a multi-year program to revamp its technology and digital solutions footprint, and as part of this new strategy, SAP will act as the ‘digital core’ for the company’s Transportation Management processes. While we rely on various delivery partners in our transformation, we are investing in building our internal SAP TM capabilities.

As the Senior Application Manager, you will be responsible for the availability and performance of applications, particularly driving incident and problem RCAs to cost-effective solutions. You will be part of the support organization, working closely with engineers, Product Owners, and the business front line to resolve support issues while ensuring SLAs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the full lifecycle of multiple applications including planning, development, and maintenance.
  2. Form strong and trusted relationships with Product Owners and the Business front line to understand user needs and how technology enables across product portfolios.
  3. Understand how the application functions (e.g., workflows, interfaces, dependencies).
  4. Understand how the Business uses the application and the impact of incidents.
  5. Review production issues, assist in resolution and root cause analysis.
  6. Coordinate defect resolution and BAU backlog with external deployment and build teams.
  7. Provide guidance to internal and external developers and drive performance and quality deliverables.
  8. Work collaboratively across the platform, evolving towards DevOps, continuous releases, and reuse of enablers.
  9. Drive continuous improvement of applications.
  10. Remediate operational and cyber risks.
  11. Ensure application health and performance.

Who we are looking for

Candidates must have:

  • Over 10 years of experience in SAP software development, IT operations, delivery management, or product ownership.
  • Ability and experience to provide technical leadership to development teams.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP in-house roles or consulting backgrounds to understand SAP lifecycle, solutions, and processes.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing SAP applications.
  • Knowledge of SAP application architecture.
  • Ability to conduct design reviews, create test cases, and analyze test results.
  • Experience analyzing complex incidents, system recovery, RCAs, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively across organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and results-oriented personality.

Ideally, candidates should have:

  • Experience in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Experience developing and implementing SAP logistics/transportation applications.
  • Deep understanding of building high-availability, fault-tolerant, resilient, and scalable solutions.
  • Experience designing application frameworks, standards, object, and data models.
  • Experience developing API/web services solutions.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments.
  • Experience implementing automated, scalable modernized solutions.
  • Experience with DevOps and Scrum processes.
  • Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow, JIRA, Power BI, Solution Manager.
