Job summary

Target is seeking a Principal Application Security Engineer to provide technical leadership for its enterprise Application Security program in Minnesota. You will advance secure development practices, integrate security into the software development lifecycle, and partner with engineering to reduce risk with scalable security solutions.

The role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to enable developers while scaling security through automation and self-service

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS, information security, or engineering required.
• 10+ years in software engineering or security engineering.
• Deep expertise across SSDLC, SAST, DAST, SCA, threat modeling, and penetration testing.
• Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to scale application security programs across large org.
• Experience with AI-enabled security solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across SSDLC, SAST, DAST, SCA, Threat Modeling and Penetration Testing.
• Guide teams in vulnerability remediation and secure coding practices.
• Design automation to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead security strategy and metrics to scale security across large org.
• Foster collaboration and mentor engineers on security best practices.
